Curious but not ready to commit? Try breathing underwater in the pool with professional guidance and real scuba gear.
Bonus: $30 is credited toward your Open Water class if you sign up the same day.
🤿 Open Water Diver
This is your full beginner certification. You’ll complete eLearning, interactive sessions, pool training, and ocean checkout dives.
🌴 Finish in Paradise
Complete your eLearning and pool training with us, then finish your open water dives with another dive shop somewhere warm.
What’s Included in Open Water?
Your Open Water course is built to take you from curious beginner to certified diver—step by step.
📚 PADI eLearning
Most academics are completed online at your pace. If you book through us, your PADI eLearning is included.
🧠 Interactive Sessions
We review the important stuff, answer questions, give you some hands-on time with all the gear and make sure the concepts actually make sense before you hit the water.
🏊 Pool Sessions
You’ll learn and practice the core scuba skills in the pool—with enough time to build comfort and mastery.
🌊 Ocean Checkout Dives
You’ll complete 4 open water dives over 2 days, typically in Jamestown, RI at Fort Wetherill State Park.

🌙 Weeknight Classes
Interactive sessions are Wednesday evenings (6-9:30pm), with pool sessions on Friday evenings (6-9:30pm).
Ocean checkout dives are completed on separate weekend dates. We do have options for weekday dives, as well.

Sunday sessions combine interactive learning and pool training on the same day (11am-5pm).

Personal Gear: What You’ll Need
We provide the core scuba gear for your course, but students do need scuba-quality personal gear.

Where Are the Ocean Dives?
Our local open water checkout dives are typically done in Jamestown, RI at Fort Wetherill State Park.
You’ll complete 4 dives over 2 days with one of our PADI instructors. Bring water, snacks, and a good attitude—we’ll handle the training.

When you sign up for a full Open Water class with us, we include and assign your PADI eLearning.
If you purchase eLearning directly from PADI, make sure you select Dive On It Scuba, Cumberland RI as your dive shop. If not, additional fees may apply.
